Specializing in mental health, acquired/traumatic brain injury/post-concussion syndrome (ABI/TBI/PCS) and addictions, I will validate your experiences, and using evidence-based, best practices, will guide you through your challenges in a confidential, compassionate and safe environment. ​My practice offers an individualized approach to treatment.

I am aware that no one gets through life without struggles, and the purpose of therapy is to have a trusting and therapeutic relationship that is caring and non-judgemental. I aim to help people find their strengths, builds skills and move forward with their lives in the best way possible.I began my career more than 20 years ago working with adults with severe and chronic mental illness. I have helped people to work through trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, substance dependence, and traumatic brain injury, amongst many other issues and concerns.

I have experience working with people from across the life span ranging from children and adolescents to the elderly. ​After obtaining my MSW at York University in Toronto, I have worked in various settings. Following 10 years working as a social worker for a school board (KPRDSB), I furthered my training and expertise in mental health and acquired/traumatic brain injury/post-concussion syndrome (ABI/TBI/PCS). Working on the ABI team through the HCCSS (formally the CCAC and the LHIN), I have gained experience helping clients and their families to work through grief, loss, and various mental health challenges as the result of their injury.

My Specialties

I have been trained extensively in CBT as well as CBT-I (CBT for insomnia), DBT, Motivational Interviewing, strengths-based approaches, trauma informed therapy, addictions modalities and treatment for clients with acquired brain injury/post-concussion syndrome. I have recently completed additional training in trauma therapy called Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), which is beneficial for all types of trauma as well as substance abuse. 

I am also a strong and dedicated advocate. I can help you know your rights and options with regard to disability issues and insurance claims (MVC).
